Crusoe triples its valuation to $30B

The AI data-center builder raised $3B in ten months after its last round, backed by a $13B five-year GPU contract with trading firm Jane Street.
AI data-center developer Crusoe raised over $3 billion at a roughly $30 billion valuation, Bloomberg reported September 3, co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners with Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Capital also participating. That’s triple the $10 billion valuation Crusoe set just ten months ago on a $1.38 billion round.
The jump follows a $13 billion, five-year cloud contract Crusoe signed to supply GPUs and AI infrastructure to quantitative trading firm Jane Street, on top of existing business with Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Crusoe started in 2018 as a crypto-mining operation running on flared natural gas before pivoting to AI infrastructure.
For operators watching the neocloud sector, Crusoe’s trajectory is a useful data point on how fast GPU-capacity providers are still being valued to grow, following similar recent raises from Together AI and Volta. But the customer concentration is worth flagging: a single five-year contract materially moved a $20 billion valuation swing, which means Crusoe’s growth story leans heavily on hyperscaler and quant-trading demand holding steady rather than a broad, diversified customer base.
