AegisAI, founded by former Google security execs, raised a $36M Series A led by Battery Ventures to detect AI-powered spear-phishing attacks.

AegisAI, founded by former Google security leads Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, closed a $36 million Series A, with Battery Ventures leading and Accel and Foundation Capital returning, bringing its total raised to $49 million. The company uses AI agents to catch sophisticated spear-phishing attempts, including malicious password-protected PDFs, that rule-based filters miss; Khormaee says AI-powered attacks now bypass existing controls more than half the time. Customers include LangChain, Mesh, and Lokker.
